SpaceX launches South Korea’s first exclusive military-use satellite

Pyongyang has frequently complained that Seoul’s satellite developments violate agreements and threaten peace

U.S. company SpaceX launched South Korea’s first exclusively military-use satellite into orbit on Monday, fulfilling a plan that North Korea has frequently criticized as “destroying peace” on the peninsula.

The ANASIS-II communications satellite was launched on a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida around 5:30 p.m. local time, according to a press release from the South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
