Kim Yo Jong’s accusation that Seoul spread COVID sets stage for future violence

Experts say North Korea using crisis to push harder line toward South Korea, even as it celebrates ‘victory’ over virus

An obscenity-filled speech by the North Korean leader’s sister Kim Yo Jong this week, accusing Seoul of spreading COVID-19 and threatening to “exterminate” ROK leaders, set the stage for future violence against South Korea, experts told NK News on Thursday.

Kim delivered the invective at a national meeting on Wednesday, at which leader Kim Jong Un “declared victory” over COVID-19 and claimed the country had “eradicated” the virus.
