Unification minister says North Korean nukes target South, not just US

DPRK’s new plans for front-line units violate ‘spirit’ of inter-Korean military deal, Kwon Young-se tells reporters

South Korea’s unification minister said North Korea’s recent adoption of new military plans for front-line units violates the “spirit” of a 2018 inter-Korean military deal, stating that the DPRK’s nuclear weapons target the South.

Kwon Young-se’s remarks came in response to the three-day meeting of the DPRK’s Central Military Commission (CMC) last week, which some experts said appeared to discuss operation plans related to tactical nuclear weapons. State media also showed that maps of South Korean territory were on display during the military meeting.
