State TV airs images of inundated fields and broken bridges as Pyongyang warns of more extreme weather over the weekend

Heavy rain and flooding destroyed over 1,000 houses and large areas of farmland in rural parts of northeast North Korea earlier this week, state-run television reported on Thursday, showing images of inundated homes and collapsed riverbanks.

The state media broadcast confirms NK News analysis of satellite imagery showing that entire neighborhoods and schools washed away and multiple bridges broke apart from flooding in Sinhung county and other areas on the east coast between Aug. 1 and 3.
