NIS ties North Korea’s ‘grave’ incident to military grain, disinfection center

In briefing with lawmakers, South Korean intelligence agency also said Kim Jong Un has lost 10-20 kilograms

The “grave” COVID-19 incident recently referred to in North Korean state media likely related to the mismanagement of military grain and delays in opening a new disinfection center, South Korea’s intelligence agency reportedly told lawmakers on Thursday.

In a closed-door briefing, the National Intelligence Service (NIS) also told the National Assembly’s intelligence committee that North Korea originally intended to reopen the border in April to stabilize market prices and that Kim Jong Un has lost 10 to 20 kilograms, according to lawmakers on the committee.
