New test follows earlier launch on Wednesday

North Korea launched two projectiles early on Friday morning, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, the second such test in recent days and Pyongyang's third in the last two weeks.

"North Korea at around 0259 and 0323 KST fired an unidentified short-range projectile twice from South Hamgyong province's Yonghung area into the East Sea," the JCS said in a statement.
