North Korea is the most corrupt country in the world, a nonprofit business association said Tuesday, marking the third year in a row the DPRK has earned the title. 

Trace International ranked the country 194th out of 194 countries in its latest annual report that rates countries based on four key corruption indicators. Of the indicators, North Korea scored the worst in the world for the capacity of civil society oversight and expectations of business-to-government bribes.

The country’s overall ranking improved just a single point over 2021, however, owing to slight improvements in North Korea’s dismal bribery deterrence and civil
