North Korea says it doesn’t want talks with U.S., slams South Korean mediation

DPRK foreign ministry statement comes as U.S. point man Steve Biegun set to arrive in Seoul

North Korea has “no intention” to enter dialogue with the United States and does not welcome South Korean attempts to facilitate diplomacy with Washington, a DPRK foreign ministry official said Tuesday.

The remarks, attributed to director-general of the foreign ministry Department of U.S. affairs Kwon Jong Gun, come as the top American official for DPRK issues arrives in the region for talks in Seoul and Tokyo.
