UN allocates $900,000 to COVID-19 response work in North Korea

Funds to go towards "life-saving health assistance" in DPRK, will be provided to WHO

The UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) will allocate $900,000 to the World Health Organization (WHO) for work in helping North Korea respond to a potential outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the organization's website showed Wednesday.

"The main objective of this project is to provide timely life-saving health assistance in priority countries in order to contain the global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus," the UN website said.
