Japan and North Korea to Hold Talks in Beijing Next Week

After talks between North Korea and Japan were held in Mongolia earlier this month, Japanese officials have announced negotiations between the two states will continue in Beijing next week.

While superstar Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki visited Pyongyang a fortnight ago, his government colleagues from Tokyo were sparring in a very different kind of diplomatic arena with North Korean diplomats in Mongolia.

Following two days of meetings between Tokyo and Pyongyang in Ulan Bator on November 15 and 16, the two sides agreed to continue talks surrounding the ongoing and controversial abductions issue.
