‘Two-way’ North Korea-Russia ties threaten global peace, Blinken says

US Secretary of State warns DPRK seeks help with missile program in exchange for aiding Russia’s war effort in Ukraine

North Korea and Russia’s burgeoning “two-way street” relationship is threatening global peace and security, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned on Monday, alleging that the DPRK seeks help with its missile program in exchange for providing assistance for Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

Blinken’s comments at the ROK-U.S. Strategic Forum in Washington follow North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s visit to Russia and his summit with Vladimir Putin earlier this month, which renewed concerns about military cooperation between the two countries.
