The U.S. will continue deploying strategic assets such as advanced fighter jets and Carrier Strike Groups to South Korea in response to North Korean threats, U.S. defense chief said Tuesday in Seoul, while stating that upcoming tabletop exercises will ensure the allies see “eye to eye” on security issues.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also emphasized the importance of strengthening U.S. extended deterrence when asked to comment on how he sees South Korea’s nuclear armament at a press conference.
