A North Korean state media company has launched a new propaganda campaign featuring young girls who film selfie-style vlogs on topics ranging from COVID-19 quarantine to Harry Potter, an NK News investigation has found.
The new campaign is promoted in part through a fake Twitter persona and appears to be part of efforts to win supporters abroad with claims of freedom and utopian social conditions. This message is delivered through more relatable content such as a “challenge” by an English-speaking 11-year-old to her fans to discuss J.K. Rowling’s fantasy series.
