North Korea claims zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 after testing 23,826 people

The country has long claimed to be COVID-19 free while intermittently reporting numbers to the World Health Organization

North Korea recently claimed to have zero confirmed cases of COVID-19, despite testing nearly 24,000 people for a virus that has killed more than 3 million people around the world.

According to a new report from the World Health Organization, North Korea tested 23,826 people for COVID-19 as of April 8. In terms of samples, that amounts to 47,378 total samples tested — none of which came up positive for the novel coronavirus.
