North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently visited the under-construction Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory to promote the chemical industry and speak out against economic pressure from “hostile forces,” state media reported Tuesday, in his first on-site inspection of 2020.

Construction on the large factory complex, located in the city of Sunchon north of Pyongyang, began in late 2016 with the flattening of the old Sunchon Nitro-Lime Fertilizer Factory, according to previous analysis of satellite imagery by NK News‘s sister site NK Pro.
