North Korea observers are worrying about what the future holds for the peninsula. Inter-Korean dialogue is dead, arms races continue apace, and options for dialing down tensions are slowly running out.

As a result of this and more, John Everard – the United Kingdom's former Ambassador to North Korea – on Wednesday told NK News that the status quo was becoming unsustainable, and that "we may be coming towards a crunch."
