NK News can confirm that Pyongyang has sent Jimmy Carter an official invite to visit North Korea

SEOUL - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter will not be traveling to North Korea in the near future, despite receiving an official invitation from Pyongyang, an inside source told  NK News.

President Carter had a conversation on July 22 with Secretary of State John Kerry and White House national security advisor Susan Rice about the possibility of going to North Korea, Tokyo-based newswire Kyodo reported on Monday.
