North Korea published the first photos of a new class of warship under construction on the west coast on Wednesday that is larger than two destroyers the country built in recent years, appearing to confirm work on a third destroyer at the Nampho Shipyard was abandoned, according to NK News analysis.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that DPRK leader Kim Jong Un inspected work on the new warship and major infrastructural upgrades around the shipyard on Sunday.

Kim reportedly noted the new vessel’s “huge and imposing appearance, which bears no comparison with the destroyer built last year.”
