North Korea fires more than 60 rounds of artillery near Northern Limit Line: JCS

Seoul says firing into maritime zone where ‘hostility is prohibited’ threatens peace on peninsula

North Korea fired more than 60 rounds of artillery near the maritime Northern Limit Line off the west coast on Saturday evening, according to a statement from the South Korean military.

This comes a day after the DPRK resumed artillery drills near the maritime border. South Korea responded by holding counter-response drills and advising residents of two West Sea islands to evacuate to shelters as a precautionary measure.
