South Korean naval conscript indicted for spreading North Korean propaganda

Sailor also charged with leaking classified information to Chinese contact, facing up to 17 years in prison

A South Korean navy sailor has been indicted for producing and distributing materials praising North Korean leaders and leaking classified military information to a Chinese contact, the Defense Counterintelligence Command (DCC) confirmed to NK News.

Tuesday’s indictment follows a nine-month investigation by ROK navy prosecutors, after the petty officer who enlisted in May last year was accused of breaching the National Security Act and the military criminal law.
