North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appears to have recently gifted new and hand-me-down armored Mercedes cars to his inner circle, providing perks to his trusted officials and again demonstrating his ability to bypass international sanctions.

Korean Central Television (KCTV) started its Wednesday broadcast on an ongoing party plenum in the capital by prominently showing the luxurious new Mercedes vehicles of the country’s top officials, including at least two models not before seen in Kim’s convoys.
