North Korea slams US test of long-range missile, vows ‘military counteraction’

South Korean officials observed Minuteman III launch, which expert says aimed to reassure ROK of US defense commitment

North Korea slammed the U.S. for testing a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) this week, threatening “military counteraction” in response.

In an article published Friday by state media, an unnamed “military commentator” singled out the attendance of South Korean officials at the test launch in California, stating this demonstrated the allies’ intention to use the nuclear-capable weapon against the DPRK.
