North Korea will allow foreigners to enter the country on the condition that they undergo a two-day quarantine, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, though it remains unclear if this sets the stage for long-term residents and even tourists to return for the first time in over three and a half years.

The Chinese state-run agency reported Monday evening that the new policy was in place as of the same day.

But CCTV did not provide a source for the information, stating only that “North Korea announced” the change without elaborating on what government agency made the announcement.
