North Korea tried and failed to launch a military spy satellite on Wednesday morning due to a problem with the rocket engine, according to DPRK state media, saying it would make another attempt “within the shortest period possible.”
The rare same-day launch announcement from Pyongyang came just minutes after South Korea said it had determined the launch failed and that the rocket landed in waters west of the ROK.
