The U.S. and South Korean militaries will hold a large-scale exercise for 11 days this month to practice responses to North Korean and other threats, the allies announced Friday.
Freedom Shield (FS) will run from March 13 to 23 and focus on scenario-based exercises related to the DPRK, while also reflecting “lessons learned from recent wars and conflicts” around the world, according to a joint statement by the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Forces Korea (USFK).
