An influential pro-North Korea media outlet in Tokyo has revealed new details about its reporting operations in the DPRK, underlining close ties between Pyongyang and the Japanese newspaper widely viewed as an extension of state propaganda.
The March issue of Gekkan IO, a monthly magazine published by theChoson Sinbo, features a 9-page article on the activities of the outlet’s Pyongyang bureau and the special access that its journalists enjoy thanks to their connection to Chongryon, a pro-DPRK organization of ethnic Koreans in Japan.
