Launch of two short-range ballistic missiles comes as ROK set to conclude major military drills the same day

North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea around midday Friday, according to the South Korean military.

The launch announced by Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) marks the North’s first missile test in two weeks and comes as the South Korean military wraps up its two-week Hoguk Exercises, which U.S. armed forces also participated in.
