North Korea fires artillery near border in ‘warning’ over South Korean drills

Seoul says artillery fire a ‘clear violation’ of military deal, as Pyongyang accuses South of ‘provocations’ near border

North Korea fired around 250 rounds of artillery from east and west coast areas late Tuesday night, according to the South Korean military, in what the DPRK army called “warning shots” against ongoing ROK exercises earlier that day.
