South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Tuesday nominated conservative lawmaker and former diplomat Cho Tae-yong to be the next ROK ambassador to the United States, days before U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Seoul for a summit.
Cho has served in multiple U.S.-related positions at the foreign ministry and was South Korea’s vice representative at the six party talks in 2005.
He also served as director-general for North American affairs at the foreign ministry, as well as first vice foreign minister and first deputy director of the National Security Council
