North Korean authorities have mobilized the country’s military to distribute medicine in the capital as fever cases related to an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak continue to rise, state media reported Tuesday.

According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), an additional six people died nationwide between Sunday and Monday after experiencing “fever,” while the country recorded 269,510 more fever patients in the same period — bringing the total to 1.48 million people since late April.

The report said there were 663,910 patients currently receiving treatment, and that 56 people have died in total during the current outbreak. State TV may release
