North Korea to allow imports via train from China in first since 2020: Sources

Train set to cross into North Korea on Monday as the country faces shortages from prolonged pandemic restrictions

North Korea plans to allow a freight train carrying cargo to cross the border from China on Monday, an informed source in the border city of Dandong told NK News, in what could become the first such shipment in 17 months.

A second informed source told NK News that Monday’s expected shipment to North Korea is meant to test new quarantine facilities in the DPRK border city of Sinuiju, according to the source’s North Korean partner.
