North Korea boasts of ‘full-scale’ work towards new space capabilities

State media promotes aerospace tech developments after Kim Jong Un ordered new recon satellite in early 2021

North Korea’s aerospace sector is “pressing forward” with the development of space launch technologies, state media reported on Sunday, in line with DPRK leader Kim Jong Un’s plans to launch a new reconnaissance satellite.

“Under Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s leadership, our nation took on the challenge of becoming a Space Power and is now pressing forward with full-scale peaceful aerospace development,” according to the state-run Voice of Korea (VOK).
