Kim Jong Un suggests restoring inter-Korean hotlines in early October

DPRK leader’s sister Kim Yo Jong also promoted to member of top decision-making body in Pyongyang

North Korea is willing to restore inter-Korean communication lines starting early next month, DPRK leader Kim Jong Un said in a landmark policy speech on Wednesday while criticizing Seoul and Washington’s “arms buildup” and expressing skepticism about an end-of-war declaration.

Kim made the speech on the second day of a Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) session in Pyongyang, North Korea’s quasi-parliamentary organization, according to Thursday’s party-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun.
