COVAX offers almost 3 million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine to North Korea

WHO representative to DPRK says country could successfully manage vaccine rollout with ‘adequate’ support

COVAX has offered to provide around 3 million doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine to North Korea, World Health Organization (WHO) representative to the DPRK Edwin Salvador told NK News on Thursday.

North Korea is also slated to receive 1.7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, but the delivery had been delayed for months due to the country’s lack of “technical preparedness” and a “global supply shortage,” according to the global vaccine alliance Gavi.
