Kim Jong Un demands more legal control over North Korea’s struggling economy

Kim also called for more ambitious production goals on the third day of the country’s latest party plenum

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered the country’s top officials to strengthen legal control and surveillance over how they implement the DPRK’s new five-year economic plan.

On the third day of the ruling party’s latest plenum meeting, Kim stressed the importance of “eliminating irrational elements that become a hurdle” to the economic plan and the need to “enact and equip new sectoral laws” to increase production and construction efficiency, state media reported on Thursday.
