Typhoon Haishen slammed North Korea's east coast on Monday, as state television reported once again on flooding and damage to buildings and infrastructure in near real-time.
The typhoon, also called "Typhoon No. 10," is the third to hit the country in the last three weeks and follows flooding from sustained heavy rains in early August. Together, this marathon of harsh weather has created a remarkably dire situation for North Korea, which has infrastructure and storm preparedness that lags far behind neighboring countries.
