North Korean soldiers opened fire on a South Korean guard post (GP) along the central front of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) early on Sunday morning, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement.

Multiple bullets struck the GP, the JCS said, but caused no damage to equipment and did not result in any casualties.

The incident reportedly took place near the border town
