Russian authorities are holding 161 alleged North Korean poachers in custody following a high-seas incident in which a DPRK crew attacked and injured four border guards, the country’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said Wednesday.

The FSB has said that two DPRK ships and 11 motorboats were spotted poaching near the Yamato Bank, which lies between the Korean peninsula, Russia, and Japan, earlier in the week.

The crew of the ships were then said to have opened fire on the Russian border guards before their ships were seized and the men were taken into custody.
