U.S. to introduce new N. Korea resolution, major powers still at odds

U.S. and Russia clash at UN Security Council after Moscow disputes ICBM claims

The United States will introduce a new United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution in response to North Korea’s launch of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) on Tuesday, its Ambassador to the UN said on Wednesday.

The comments from Ambassador Nikki Haley were made in a contentious UNSC meeting in response to the launch, which saw the U.S. and Russia spar over comments regarding approaches to solving the issue surrounding North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
