Singapore firm helping North Korea’s OMM found guilty

Chinpo Shipping found guilty of transferring money to OMM, no sentence until January

The Singaporean company accused of aiding sanctioned North Korean shipping firm Ocean Maritime Management (OMM) has been found guilty of transferring money that could have contributed the DPRK’s weapons programs, by a district court today.

Chinpo Shipping was accused of sending $72,017 to the Panama Canal authority, for the passage of the Chong Chon Gang, a North Korean vessel caught smuggling munitions and disassembled fighter jets from Cuba.
