North Korea’s ‘campaign to secure water’ continues

DPRK appears to be ramping up efforts to alleviate water shortages

North Korean state media today continued to place emphasis on a “campaign to secure water” as the country, facing a serious drought, appears to be ramping up efforts to ensure enough water is available for next year’s harvest season.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was reported stating that “farming is water, and water is farming” in a Rodong Shinmun article today that also profiled efforts part of the campaign in the country's North Pyongan and North Hwanghae provinces.
