Warning shots fired as N. Korean soldiers approach border

Provocation likely a reconnaissance mission - South Korean military

South Korean soldiers fired warning shots along the North-South border on Monday as 10 North Korean soldiers approached the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) separating the two countries.

South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) said that the group of North Korean soldiers advanced towards the border at 9:40 a.m. near the Joint Security Area (JSA) in northern Paju and that the approach was likely part of a reconnoissance exercise.
