North and South Korea exchanged fire on Friday near the South Korean border town of Yeoncheon, after the DPRK fired on balloons carrying anti-North Korea leaflets, according to Yonhap news agency.
According to an official from the South Korean Joint Chief's of staff, the gunfire was heard around at 3:55 pm, and at 4:50 pm. After numerous 14.5mm bullets landed in southern territory, the South Koreans returned fire.
