More on Victory Day, soccer tournament and a Kiwi bike tour

Festivities commemorating the 68th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule remained one of the most significant events reported on this week in domestic North Korean news. Sport, in the form of a soccer championship, was also a prevalent theme. Soccer matches were held in Pyongyang to mark the 65th anniversary of the DPRK’s foundation and for Youth Day. The KCNA also reported on a group New Zealand motorcyclists who began a bike tour of North Korea.
