Pyongyang calls on U.S. after blaming South for talks failure

State media on a constant anti-South offensive following the collapse of talks, now reaches out to U.S.

SEOUL – North Korea called for talks with Washington on Sunday, proposing discussion on military tensions, the armistice, and a "'world without nuclear weapons', as proposed by the U.S.", just five days after a planned inter-Korean summit failed to materialize.

"If the U.S. truly hopes for a 'world without nuclear weapons' and wants to alleviate tensions, then it should not miss this opportunity and proactively respond to our broad-minded decision and goodwill," a National Defense Commission (NDC) statement said, carried by the KCNA.
