Wednesday’s North-South Korean talks cancelled

North Korea argues South Korean representatives not at appropriate level, withdraws from talks

SEOUL – Talks scheduled to take place between North and South Korea at the Seoul Hilton on Wednesday have been cancelled after a consensus on who should lead negotiations could not be reached.

"The South expresses its regrets towards the North's decision, which displays a lack of common sense and equal status with South Korea within international society," Ministry of Unification spokesperson Kim Hyong-suk told a press conference at 2000KST in Seoul.
