North Korea successfully tested an upgraded version of the 240mm multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) on Tuesday, according to state media, claiming the weapons will be deployed to the South Korean border to “constantly expose the enemy to extreme uneasiness and fear.”

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Thursday that top military officials oversaw the test, without mentioning the presence of leader Kim Jong Un.
