US, ROK agree to push for ‘denuclearization of North Korea,’ not of ‘peninsula’

Decision departs from Pyongyang’s preferred language as way to emphasize that DPRK is one developing ‘illegal’ weapons

The U.S. and South Korea have agreed to use the phrase “denuclearization of North Korea” in public statements, rather than Pyongyang’s preferred formulation of “denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” according to Seoul.
