Russian leader Vladimir Putin brought a limousine to Pyongyang this week as a gift for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, according to Russian state media, in an open violation of U.N. sanctions prohibiting such a transfer.

It is the second time Putin has given Kim a Russian-made Aurus limousine this year, after he sent an armored version to Pyongyang in February.

It comes as Putin openly declared his intentions on Tuesday to improve joint efforts to evade U.N. economic sanctions, and as the two countries have expanded trade in prohibited goods like missiles since last fall.
