North Korea fires short-range missile toward Yellow Sea: ROK military

South Korea says it detected missile fired from west coast at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, as US-ROK forces hold joint drills

North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) toward the Yellow Sea from around the west coast city of Nampho on Thursday evening, according to the ROK military.

South Korea’s armed forces detected the missile at 6:20 p.m. local time, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff told reporters more than an hour later.

“Our military is comprehensively analyzing possibilities such as North Korea firing multiple rounds of SRBMs from same region,” JCS added
